How to Prepare for a Graduate Program
Do you want to attend graduate school? If you do then you have to prepare for it. Maybe the preparation is not as extensive as preparing for college but you still need to show that you care. Here is how to prepare:
Be informed of requirements and deadlines.
As with college applications, you need to know your requirements. Find out if you still need to write a graduate school essay and if there is a special question or topic for this essay. Know about the other requirements, as well as their deadlines. This way, you plan ahead for the semester that you plan to enroll into.
Prepare your college transcript.
Make sure that your college transcript includes a certification that you have achieved a bachelor’s degree, which is a requirement for graduate school. Your copy should be safe somewhere, in an envelope preferably. This may also be the time to find out if you have lost it and see if you can request a copy from the college you graduated from.
Keep in touch with people who could write your recommendation letters.
Start making a list of names of people who could write your recommendation letters. The list should consist of people who have been your professors, mentors or moderators in college. These are people who could attest that you can handle graduate school.
With people to contact and requirements to prepare, getting into graduate school should be taken seriously. Start collecting requirements into your envelope right now.
